St Levan crosses

St Levan 03This tall cross stands at the entrance to the churchyard of the little St Levan church. It is said to be in its original position which is rare. It bears the figure of a crucified Christ.

In the background is the St Levan stone, a loaf-shaped rock in two parts which is said to have been split in two by the saint.

At the north-east entrance to the churchyard is another crosshead, perched alongside the coffin-rest and steps down into the churchyard.
