St Martin’s is off the beaten track, standing on its own south of the small village of St Martin in Meneage. It was largely rebuilt in 1830 after a fire and betrays this in its windows and structure.

It is hard to tell whether it ever had aisles and transepts but today it is a single, rather soulless, large hall without arcading. The windows and doors are clearly Victorian. The church was cared for as the woodwork looked sound and was painted in a lively blue.

The cardinal sin of this church, for the casual visitor, is that it is locked and there is no indication of where the key may be found. The result is that you must be satisfied with a glimpse through the window which provides no view of the Norman font.
